Kendra Harrison breaks 28-year-old 100m hurdles mark

The American, who missed out on Olympic qualification at the US trials, beat the three athletes who will go to the Games in Rio in a world record time.

Kendra Harrison broke the 28-year-old 100m hurdles world record with a time of 12.20sec at the London Diamond League meeting on Friday, relieving some of the pain of her failure to make the US Olympic team.

Harrison beat the previous record of 12.21sec set by Bulgaria's Yordanka Donkova back on August 20, 1988.

"I want to try to get another record in the 400 hurdles," Harrison said.
