Javier Zafra, ex-CEO of Origen, is the new Director of Operations of H2K

Zafra states that it has been an easy decision to join H2K

H2K has confirmed through a statement on Facebook the incorporation of Javier Zafra, former CEO of Origen, as the new Director of Operations and Team Management of the club.

"Boasting a strong background and sharing the core values we believe in, Javier is a perfect fit to lead our day-to-day operations in Berlin in a professional manner worthy of an organization committed to excellence," states the organization in the announcement. "His belief in the potential and strengths of our League of Legends squad make Javier a key element in our Summer Split campaign, the only goal we have in our minds."

A new beginning for Zafra

Zafra himself also shared some introductory words. "Making the decision to join the H2K project has been really easy. From the very beginning, I have always had my eyes on H2K as one of the reference teams when it comes to running a project in the esports sector," he assures, and continues: "It's not only one of the teams with the highest competitive level but also stability and has evolved as an organization, becoming a family whose priority is the well-being of its players and employees."

The new director of operations also confesses that his first experience in the maximum European League of Legends competition led him to consider whether he wanted to continue in the industry. "After my first experience in the LCS, I was questioning whether to remain within the Esports sector or not, but by knowing the depths and professionalism of the H2K structure, the extensive expertise of the people in the ownership group and the core values which align between the two parties, I can confidently say I've made the right choice."

Previously, Zafra worked at Origen as the organization's CEO. The disappointing results of the European spring split have meant numerous losses for the club, which will now have to find a way to return to the EU LCS after its descent.
