Shafi: Complicado Summer Split en el cual casi desciende Origen a la Challenger Series, ¿Qué sentimiento tenías respecto a ello?, ¿qué ambiente se respiraba en el equipo?

Shafi: Vas a comenzar la nueva temporada con Fnatic, uno de los mayores clubs en la historia de los esports, ¿Cuáles fueron los principales factores que te llevaron a cambiar de equipo? ¿Qué tiene Fnatic que no tengan otros equipos?

Amazing: Fnatic siempre ha otorgado un gran ecosistema para todo tipo de jugadores. Ellos hicieron crecer a principiantes como Huni y Febiven, han dado a los veteranos espacio para desarrollarse (Yellowstar) y crearon marcas de estrellas prometedoras y capaces como Rekkles y Peke.

Esta encarnación de la profesionalidad me atrajo, ya que quiero continuar mi carrera bajo las circunstancias que me permitan hacer realidad la única cosa que siempre he perseguido desde que volví a Europa: ganar la EU LCS y finalmente ser uno de los grandes junglas que hemos tenido.

Fnatic tiene la capacidad de hacer que un jugador florezca y prospere. A pesar de que ellos tienen un largo recorrido y llevan haciendo esto durante años y años, ellos nunca se conforman con sus credenciales y logros, sino que siempre buscan más, lo que hace que me enorgullezca de representarlos.

Shafi: ¿Qué aspiraciones tienes para este Spring Split tanto individualmente como en equipo?

Amazing: Para mí, compensar el último split de verano. Aunque mi rendimiento individual estaba a la par con lo que esperaba, mi éxito no lo estuvo. Como equipo, ser tan buenos como podamos. El éxito vendrá con ello.

Shafi: La Challenger Series europea tanto como la norteamericana se están reforzando con grandes jugadores, ¿Qué opinas respecto al nivel de la Challenger Series?

Amazing: El nivel de la Challenger Series está aumentando simplemente debido a la adquisición de talento extranjero y coreano. Es similar a lo que ocurre en cualquier liga dominada por el dinero: los mejores equipos serán capaces de ascender a la LCS mientras que los equipos de menor nivel no obtendrán más que tristeza porque no tienen el capital de riesgo para competir.

Shafi: La EU LCS cambia a un nuevo formato, ¿qué opinas al respecto?

Amazing: No me gustaba la fiesta de empates que teníamos el año pasado. El cambio es principalmente interesante debido a la alteración del formato de la liga en sí mismo. La eficiencia de elegir grupo es extremadamente dependiente de cómo los equipos de la pretemporada progresen.

Podría ser que aquellos que tengan un éxito más allá de sus capacidades al principio (piensa en el caso del Schalke 04 el año pasado) caigan y, por lo tanto, creen grupos desequilibrados. Lo opuesto también puede ocurrir y que tengamos una competición perfectamente balanceada en ambos lados, pero hay un gran margen para dudar esa posibilidad.

Shafi: ¿Con qué momento o sensación te quedas del 2016?

Amazing: Entrar en el escenario en Róterdam tras derrotar a los favoritos, H2K, previamente. Sentí como que había una tremenda adversidad que afrontar y la gente me había desestimado tras no conseguir adaptarme a un estilo en la midlane y de juego totalmente diferente en primavera.

En ese momento estaba mejor que nunca, y sintió bien saber que podía vencer a cualquiera. Incluso si no acabara ocurriendo eventualmente, mi participación el los playoffs me hicieron sentir como que podía. Fue increíble.

Maurice "Amazing" Stückenschneider is one of the most recognized players in the League of Legends scene having competed in teams like Copenhagen Wolves, Team SoloMid and Origen. He has recently signed with Fnatic, team with which he will dispute the next season of the EU LCS.

Shafi: Origen had a tough Summer Split, having to compete in the relegation, What were your feelings regarding the situation? How was the atmosphere in the team?

Amazing: The atmosphere in the team was rough. I came into the summer split under the assumption that we'd try hard to achieve the ultimate goal - getting to worlds. This hope/presumption wasn't necessarily shared by everyone onboard, and having to bench Forgiven obviously didn't help either - but I've come to terms with the fact that I lost out on bigger possibilities in order to keep up a team and a structure that didn't even pay loyalty towards their own members.

Shafi: You are going to start a new season with Fnatic, one of the biggest clubs in the history of esports, What were the main factors that made you go to Fnatic? What does Fnatic have that other teams dont?

Amazing: Fnatic has always provided a great environment for all types of players - they nurtured rookies in Huni/Febiven; gave veterans new room to grow (Yellowstar) and created brands out of up-and-coming stars in Rekkles and Peke.

This embodiment of professionalism attracted me, as I do want to continue my career under circumstances that allow me to make the one thing come true that I've yearned for ever since I came back to Europe again: win the EU LCS and finally cement myself amongst the great junglers we've had.

Fnatic does have the abilitiy to make any player bloom and prosper; and even though they are long established and have been doing this for years and years they never sit on their credentials and accomplishments but always strive for more which makes me proud to be able to represent them.

Shafi: What are your aspirations for the Spring Split individually and as a team?

Amazing: For me, make up for the last Summer Split. Even if my individual performance was still up to par with what I expected, my success wasn't. As for the team, be as good as we can be. Success will follow.

Shafi: The European and North American Challenger Series are being reinforced with great players, What is your opinion on the Challenger Series level?

Amazing: Challenger Series level is simply being inflated through the import of foreign/korean talent which makes it similar to how any money inflated League goes: the top teams will be able to make the rise into the LCS whereas the bottom tier teams have nothing but sadness going for them because they don't have the VC money to compete.

Shafi: The EU LCS is changing to a new format, What is your opinion about it?

Amazing: I didn't like the best-of 2 tie fiesta that we had last year. The change is mainly interesting due to the alteration of the actual League format. The efficiency of picking group is extremely reliant on how the actual offseason teams will progress into the season.

It could be that early overachievers (think last years Schalke 04) will fall and therefore create lopsided groups; vice versa the opposite could happen and we'll have perfectly balanced competition on both sides, but there is a lot of room to doubt that possibility.

Shafi: What moment or sensation will you keep from 2016?

Amazing: Coming onto stage in Rotterdam after having to defeat the "favourites", H2K, in the series beforehand. I felt like there was an insane amount of adversity to face, and people wrote me off after failing to adapt to a completely different midlane style and play during the split.

At that point I was as good as I ever was, and it felt good to know that I could beat anyone. Even if that didn't happen eventually, my playoff run still made me feel like I could. It was awesome.
