Over the weekend, reports broke that Dutch legend Arjen Robben would land in the MLS with Toronto FC after his Bayern Munich contract expires, as reported by soccer site Calciomercato.com

However, an ESPN source of Taylor Twellman maintains that the Canadian team is not in the run to get the Dutch player, but added there was a brief talk between Toronto and Robben through a mutual acquaintance, but nothing was concrete.

Twellman informed that the Bayern Munich winger would be signed on a Targeted Allocation Money deal for the rest of the 2019 season, pretty much like the deal made by Zlatan with LA Galaxy, but Toronto won't be signing Robben, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the closing primary transfer window on May 7.

MLS potential teams for Robben

According to mlssoccer.com, some of the teams that could be suited for the Dutch are Columbus Crew, Minnesota United and FC Dallas, and even FCD president Dan Hunt, during an interview with the league's site said about Robben and Ribery. "Both are two global superstars, I've admired them over the years, if MLS is of their interest, I think both would do very well, who doesn't want that for FC Dallas?"

The winger has been a huge part of Bayern's dominance over the Bundesliga, with 143 goal and 101 assists in 305 in all competitions. He has a UEFA Champions League crown on 2013, and with the Netherland National team, he made 96 appearances, scoring 37 goals.

His talent and quality could set him in whatever team he chooses from the MLS, as he will become a free agent starting this summer, though Inter Milan of the Serie A is also interested in getting him.
