It looks like Edson Álvarez would be very close to emigrating to the European football as different clubs from the Old Continent have shown interest in the player of Club America. According to Andrés Vaca reporter of Univisión Deportes, there is an 80 percent chance that the Mexican will join Ajax in the summer.

The Dutch team has been following the Mexican international for a few months now, although there is no formal offer in the table of the Club America board, this July the story could be different as Álvarez would arrive at the Eredivisie for the 2019-20 season.

Gerardo Martino point of view

During FIFA date, the Argentine strategist of the Mexican National team stated that for him the 21-year-old player already has all the conditions to reach European football if the opportunity presents itself. The América player price is estimated at 7.5 million euros in Transfermarkt.

Miguel Herrera and the good time to go to Europe

Herrera said he sees Edson Álvarez more mature now that he's a regular starter with the Mexico City team and believes the defender will make the big jump to Europe once Clausura 2019 ends.

"I'm almost certain that he goes to Europe because I see him more mature and has become a reference with the National team, he has grown so much, and at 21 he's very appealing for the European teams," mentioned 'El Pijo' for ESPN AM.
