During the second week of the MLS 2019 season, Carlos Vela won at home with LAFC while Jona dos Santos and Marco Fabián were defeated with their respective teams.

Week 2 of the MLS left good moments in which the Mexican striker, Carlos Vela was named the MVP of the week, while Marco Fabián lived a very dark afternoon.

Los Ángeles FC

Carlos Vela and LAFC close week 2 of the MLS when the LA team received the Portland Timbers at Bank of California Stadium in a dream night for the Mexican striker.

The LAFC won 4-1 at home in a game where Vela got his first scored of the season and was involved in the other three goals from his team. Bob Bradley team got their second win of the campaign to stay on top of the Western Conference.

LA Galaxy

The squad of Jona dos Santos and Uriel Antuna fell 2-0 on their visit to Toyota Stadium where they faced FC Dallas.

Jona dos Santos and Uriel Antuna were part of the starting lineup, while Jona had a discreet performance he got a yellow card by the end of the match. Efraín Álvarez came to the field for Sebastian Lletget and almost scored to change the course of the game. Mexican-American, Joe Corona made his debut with the LA team.

With the defeat, Galaxy is fifth in the Western Conference with three points.

Horrible night for Marco Fabián

Things for the Mexican midfielder turned out to be utterly different from Opening Day, as Marquito missed a penalty that could have match the game for Philadelphia Union when they were down 1-0.

The cherry on top was the red card the Mexican international after a bad foul at the 60th minute over Johnny Russell that was corroborated by the VAR.

On week 3, LA Galaxy will take on Minnesota United at home field, Philadelphia Union will visit Atlanta United and LAFC will visit NYC FC.
