Gregg Berhalter takes a second win as the United States coach
In the second game of Gregg Berhalter era, the United States faced Costa Rica. The game ended 2-0 in favor of the Americans with goals from Sebastial Lletget and Paul Arriola.
Avaya Stadium was the scenery chosen for the second game of Gregg Berhalter as the United States manager, where the Americans faced Costa Rica.
Although the USMNT came out strong from the dressing room with Cristian Roldan and Nick Lima leading the attack, the first half was a back and forth game that ended with no goals, and both teams fighting for the control of the game.
The U.S. team continued to put Costa Rica under pressure for the first 25 minutes. However, the 'Ticos' had their part of intensity and kept getting close to Steffen box, but failed to do any damage before the referee marked the end of the first half.
The second part was for the United States, and though Costa Rica tried to find the locals net, Sebastian Lletget was the one to break the 'Ticos' dream of seeing the goal first as the American scored the first goal of the game.
Paul Arriola's goal came on a counter-attack with Lletget playing a perfect ball behind the defense for Arriola to rush over Costa Rica's goalkeeper Esteban Alvarado, before the end of the game.
The USMNT has a pair of March friendlies against Ecuador and Chile. For this FIFA Date, Berhalter will have available all the European-based players.
