Jermaine Jones presented as the new player of Ontario Fury
One of the USMNT stars will follow in the footsteps of Landon Donovan by joining the Californian team of the Major Arena Soccer League.
Former USMNT player Jermaine Jones opens a new chapter in his career as a professional footballer, following Landon Donovan steps and joining the Major Arena Soccer League with Ontario Fury that will present Jones this Tuesday, March 12.
The press conference to officially present Jones as the new member of the team took place at the house of the Fury, the Citizens Business Banks Arena in Ontario which was open to the public.
When will Donovan and Jones face each other?
Landon Donovan joined the MASL in January, where he plays for San Diego Sockers already becoming a landmark of the team. Now with the arrival of another United States soccer legend the expectations on these two teams will be higher.
Jones will have the opportunity to face his former USMNT teammate on April 4 when Fury and Sockers meet. This match will be a battle for the Pacific Division that so far San Diego leads while Ontario is in third place.
What happened to Jones after retirement?
The US midfielder retired in September 2018, since then he began to train to become a coach, outside the sport he's going through a legal issue with his ex-wife who asked for a restraining order against him for harassment.
A month after the problem with his ex-wife, Jermaine decided to return to the field with the goal of making the Fury get that first place of division and become MASL champions.
