LA Galaxy gave two options to Gio dos Santos, vindicate or leave

According to information from ESPN, the Mexican Giovani dos Santos didn't intend to leave the LA Galaxy, on the contrary, he wanted to stay and even did his best to get fit before the start of the season, trying not to be stopped by the injuries.

An issue discussed with the LA Galaxy management since the last campaign as he was out of the field because of injuries for a month, making him seek new options outside the club which was not allowed.

Therefore, when Gio was called to restructure his contract, he was surprised for the two stipulations asked: a reduction in his salary and to 'vindicate' with the club, something that he took as carrying the faults for the bad two season of the team.

If he was not healthy, it was impossible for him to do something, and the medical services of Galaxy couldn't find what was wrong with him, something Dennis te Klose understood as he authorized people outside the club to treat him.

That's why Giovani wasn't expecting his departure from the team, as he felt supported and happy to play next to his brother Jonathan, so he wanted to stay and show his potential.

But the requests from LA Galaxy become overwhelming with just two options left: accept the conditions or part with his full contract paid, which he ended up doing.
