The New York Bulls traveled to the Dominican Republic to face Atlético Pantoja in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the CONCACAF Champions League.

The first 45 minutes of the game both teams tried to get the control of the game though New York had more opportunities on goal. The Dominican goalie; Odalis Baez, kept in many occasions the ball out of his net. However, Bradley Wright-Phillips eventually found the space to give the lead to the U.S. team before the end of the first half, though Jean Carlos López was credited the score as an own goal.

Atlético Pantoja got back on the field after the break ready to equalize the game, but New York came out strong and Daniel Royer at the 67 minutes sent the ball to the back of the net, a ball collected by Kaku who sent the assist to Royer who slam it past Baez to finish the well-worked move.

Danny Royer kept trying to find the third goal for New York, and even though the game ended 2-0, New York goes back home with the advantage that gives Red Bull the edge to move onto the quarterfinals of the tournament.
