Landon Donovan out from retirement again to join MASL

The former LA Galaxy superstar, will join the indoor soccer team the San Diego Sockers and leave his retirement for the third time since saying goodbye to his football career.

Landon Donovan will come out from retirement for the 3rd time since announcing he was ending his professional career as a footballer.

As Grant Wahl from Sports Illustrated reported, Donovan will join the San Diego Sockers of the Major Arena Soccer League.

The 36-year-old striker agreed on a 1-year contract to join immediately the indoor soccer team. The terms of the agreement were not revealed.

The last time Donovan came out from retirement was on January from last year to join the Mexican team, Club León.

He had a successful career with LA Galaxy where he spent 14 seasons and San José Earthquakes in which he won six MLS Cups and became the MLS top scorer of all times.

Landon Donovan will make his debut with the San Diego Sockers at home field against the Tacoma Stars on February 15th.
