Yohannes Mitchum the 20-year-old player who abandoned everything to follow his dream of becoming a professional football player and step in the big stadiums of the world.
Born in St. Kitts & Nevis the young midfielder left his small island, family, and friends to venture into Mexican football where Puebla FC received him in May of last year.
Mitchum landed in Mexico thanks to Jaques Passy and Hector Herrera who knew him when they were part of the technical staff of the National Team of St. Kitts & Nevis.
The young player spoke with ESPN where he talked about his first days in México. "When I arrived, it was difficult because I didn't know any Spanish, but every day I have been learning the basics of life and soccer."
Herrera who is now Yohannes coach in the sub 20 of the Mexican club talked about his great mentality because it shouldn't be easy to arrive in a country with a different language.
In its second tournament with Puebla, the young player had only 33 minutes against Cruz Azul, 13 minutes more than those he had obtained in the Opening 2018.
