Bielsa: "It's pointless to compare Guardiola and Mourinho"

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa is one of football's great thinkers and today, he gave an interesting discourse on the different styles of football and the possibilities of them yielding success when he was asked about Pep Guardiola and José Mourinho.

"[Sir Alex] Ferguson who was a great coach, never won without a certain style of play. But it would be very unfair for the public to think that success is determined by one way or a different way. [By comparing Guardiola and Mourinho] what you are doing is comparing tastes or personal feelings – if you try to simplify football to Guardiola versus Mourinho for example. No coach will tell you that the style of football you play is more important than success – but what they might say, is that, with this style, we will be in the best position to put our closer to gaining success”.
