Chapecoense presented with Copa Sudamericana trophy
The president of the Brazilian club was visibly moved as he picked up the title on behalf of his side, many of whom lost their lives in an air disaster.
Chapecoense president Plínio David De Nes was moved to tears as he accepted the Copa Sudamericana trophy on Friday on behalf of the club, which was stricken by an air tragedy in Colombia while travelling to contest the first leg of the final against Colombian side Atlético Nacional.
Seventy one people died in the crash outside Medellín, including the majority of Chapecoense's players and technical staff.
Atlético Nacional asked Conmebol to award the title to Chapecoense in a show of solidarity.
