Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Jason Day target Augusta success
Rory McIlroy: “I’d be lying if I said those guys having success doesn’t motivate me. Of course it does. What Jordan [Spieth] did last year at the US Open, even the whole way through the summer, and then what Jason [Day] did at the end of the summer, and then winning it this year…you know, I don’t want to be left behind. I want to be a part of that conversation. I’m clinging on at the minute and a few wins will change that”.
Jason Day: “If you win it usually takes care of everything. If you win the big [tournaments] you can extend the gap between first and second. That’s what I’m trying to focus on right now”.
Jordan Spieth: “You have to have everything going your way to win a golf tournament, let alone to win a major. To win four in four weeks… maybe someday there’ll be someone as dominant as Tiger Woods in 2000/2001, but I got good breaks last year and still couldn’t pull it off. But I did come very close”.
