Guardiola says Man City cannot be compared to Barça

Despite the incredible season his team is having, Pep Guardiola says it is pointless comparing his Manchester City side to his former club, Barcelona. Guardiola cited Barça's silverware collection over the past few years as just one reason why City are still at a different level.

"We are talking about completely different players - Barcelona's players have won a lot in the past while we are new. Now we can say we have won one trophy - but there is no comparison. It's not good for us to compare ourselves to that team - one which dominated the last decade, the last 15 to 20 years with different managers, with different players... We've only won one trophy and tobe able to put ourselves alongside those kinds of teams, we need to be wining things over many years, a long time", explained Guardiola, whose City side are 16 points clear of their nearest rivals in the Premier League and go into tomorrow's deciding tie with a 4-0 lead from the first leg.
