Casemiro rues missed chances against Al-Jazira "I couldn't believe it but that's football"
The Real Madrid midfielder, who had a goal disallowed by VAR, admitted that how ever much the team insisted, the ball wouldn't enter: "I'm very happy for Bale though".
Casemiro couldn’t believe Real Madrid's fortunes in Wednesday's Club World Cup semi-final against Al-Jazira. The team had a total of 36 attempts on goal, 16 of which were on target but were kept out for the best part of an hour largely down to the superb heroics of goalkeeper Ali Khaseifi, who was by far the Man of the Match.
After the game, Casemiro spoke about how amazed he was that the ball would enter: “Nobody said that this match was going to be easy… we had a lot of chances but that’s football. I've never seen a team have such bad luck. The good things is that we achieved what we set out to do – we’re in the final and now that’s what we’ve got to look forward to”, He told reporters in the Mixed Zone . “It was increasingly complicated for us. We’re insisting and having so many chances but the ball just wouldn’t go in. Finally we managed it. I'm very happy for Bale, now let’s see how we get on in the final".
