Llull: "It's bad news for us but we wish Chacho good luck at CSKA"
Real Madrid's shooting guard spoke about former club team mate Sergio Rodríguez's decision to join CSKA Moscow and Spain's chances at FIBA Eurobasket 2017.
Real Madrid and Spain shooting guard Sergio Llull spoke about former club team mate Sergio Rodríguez's decision to turn down a return to the Spanish capital, instead, signing a three-year deal with CSKA Moscow.
We wish Chacho all the best, says Llull
“It’s bad news for us because one of our direct rivals has strengthened their side with a great player like Chacho. We miss him here in Madrid but at the same time, we wish him the best of luck – at least when he isn’t playing against us", Llull told reporters today.
Llull also spoke about Spain's chances at FIBA Eurobasket 2017 in which gets underway at the end of August. “It’s going to be a very competitive Eurobasket – there are a lot of teams with great potential – teams like France, Serbia, Greece, Lithuania, Turkey, who are at home and in front of their fans which will be a massive boost for them. We’ll just try and follow our path, taking it one step at a time and make sure we prepare well with the pre-tournament friendlies we have lined up.
Llull added that he is feeling great after over a month of holidays but now, after the “cold turkey of not playing basketball for a few weeks”, he is dying to get back playing out on court again.
