Wimbledon loves Federer

Roger Federer beat Mischa Zverev in three comfortable sets (7-6 6-4 6-4) on Saturday evening to move into the second week at Wimbledon, but one of the stand-out highlights was a point he actually lost.

Federer goes through the legs

Having come into the net, Federer had to head back to the baseline after Zverev chipped him, but as the Swiss player ran after the ball it became clear he wasn't going to try and run round it, leaving the crowd expectant at the the thought of a through-the-legs shot. And not only did Federer go for it, he connected superbly, forcing his German opponent into a sharp volley. Delightful tennis all round, and a point which was absolutely lapped up by the crowd on centre court, many who rose to their feet in applause afterwards.
