Legendary Colombian goalkeeper René Higuita gave his thoughts on James Rodríguez and the player's situation at Real Madrid when El Chiringuito caught up with him after Sunday's Legends friendly at the Vicente Calderón:
“If James hasn’t been playing regularly and now we’re at the end of the season, he’s not going to suddenly start playing now. We all know what he is capable of and his qualities – he showed that in the last World Cup finals. He is a very important player, an excellent sportsman and an excellent person. He’s a reference for Columbia and he can play in any team in the world and he’s a champion with Real Madrid. If he continues at Real Madrid, then fine, and if he doesn’t, I’m sure that wherever he is, he will succeed”.
