Another string to Bale's bow... the long-throw assist

The Real Madrid forward is more associated with galloping runs down the flank but Zinedine Zidane could use his little-known skill from the side.

Gareth Bale's ability to hurl a ball 25-30 metres provoked Wales' second goal in the Dragons' 2-2 draw in Austria.

It is a facet to the Real Madrid forward's game that hasn't had much of an airing in La Liga but could be handy in a team with so many pacey forwards.

Thursday wasn't the first time Bale used his trick to good effect. The Welshman set up Jermain Defoe in an FA Cup match during his Spurs days with the same method.
