Cesc Fabregas, "I forgot how to play football"
The Chelsea midfielder speaks candidly about his slump in form earlier this season. The Blues' talisman says he was so low in confidence he forgot how to play football.
Defending Premier League champions Chelsea have had a miserable 2015/16 campaign. The London club currently sit tenth in the English top flight, behind the likes of Stoke City, West Ham United and Leicester City, and have no European football to look forward to next season.
José Mourinho's acrimonious time at the helm of the first team came to an end in December after a disastrous string of results.
Cesc Fabregas, one of the team's most experienced and highly rated players, spoke candidly about how a lack of confidence caused him to forget how to perform.
“There was a moment after a game when I was in bed. I remember I was so disappointed, so sad. I think it was after Bournemouth actually. I told my wife that I had forgotten how to play football. I wasn’t myself".
