Antoine Griezmann confirms to RTVE: "I'm staying at Atlético"
Yesterday, AS reported that Antoine Griezmann has decided to stay at Atlético Madrid and will be with the team when they move to the Wanda Metropolitano.
Earlier this week, AS reported that Atlético Madrid have convinced striker Antoine Griezmann to remain at the LaLiga club next season, despite rumours of interest from several top European sides including Manchester United.
Griezmann confirms he is staying at Atlético Madrid
But the player put the rumours to bed in an interview with RTVE this afternoon. “I’m very happy here and of course the nice weather really helps a lot! My team mates are among the best there are and then I have a top class coach, so I am very happy here and I have no reason to leave”, Griezmann told La 1 sport. As for Diego Simeone, the forward believes he too will still be in charge this time next season. “He’s very happy here and he feels the team has a lot more to give. He also wants us to go far in the Champions League and in LaLiga so I am sure he’ll continue”.
