Balotell back scoring again
Mario Balotelli opened his account in Ligue 1 on Sunday night with a debut brace for Nice against sleeping giants Marseille. The Italian will surely be delighted to have got on the scoresheet, the first time he has done so in 355 days.
A quick-fire penalty and a late header
Balotelli's first came after just seven minutes, tucking home a penalty just out of the reach of Marseille keeper Yohann Pele. His second, also Nice's second, saw him head home a cross from Portuguese wideman Ricardo with just over ten minutes to go.
A gamble in Nice?
Balotelli joined Nice this summer on a free transfer after a highly disappointing spell at Liverpool. Even a loan spell back at boyhood club AC Milan failed to help him find form: he netted just once at the San Siro.
