Este domingo 7 de septiembre se llevan a cabo los MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs, por sus siglas en inglés), que reconocen y premian los mejores videos musicales del año, así como a los mejores artistas y canciones. Este año, el actor e ícono del hip-hop LL Cool J será el presentador.
El 5 de agosto, la televisora dio a conocer su lista de nominados para la 42a edición de los premios, pero a final del mes pasado, reveló nuevas categorías, incluidas Mejor Grupo y Canción del Verano.
Para este 2025, Lady Gaga lidera las nominaciones al ser reconocida en 12 ocasiones. A la icónica Mother Monster le siguen Bruno Mars y Kendrick Lamar con 11 y 10 nominaciones, respectivamente. Sabrina Carpenter también destaca con nueve nominaciones, seguida de ROSÉ, con ocho así como Ariana Grande y The Weeknd, con siete cada uno.

VMAs 2025: Lista completa de nominados a los MTV Video Music Awards
Además de los nominados, Ricky Martin, quien hizo su debut en los VMAs en 1999, recibirá el premio Ícono Latino durante la ceremonia, en celebración de las contribuciones históricas del cantante al género.
Por otro lado, Busta Rhymes recibirá el Rock the Bells Visionary Award, un honor que rinde homenaje a la carrera de décadas del ícono del hip-hop y su “impacto cultural innovador”. Estos son todos los nominados para las codiciadas estatuillas de la Moon Person.
