Sergio Ramos was caught by El Chringuito's camera giving his support for the introduction of VAR in Spanish football. The Real Madridcaptain was asked: “You had VAR in the Club World Cup, are you in favor of it?” To which he replied: “I am, yes. I prefer to have VAR because it makes the game fairer. It’s true that with the interruptions you do a little of the essence of the game because it takes a little while – it will need time to get up to the rhythm of the game so it can be used quicker… you can’t win a game with an offside goal or a non-existent penalty so in that sense it can help. Once we get used to using it, it will become quicker”.

Ramos' comments surprised one of the guests on last night's show, José Antonio Martín "Petón" who explained: "Real Madrid won the Champions League with an offside goal against Atlético de Madrid... with a goal from Sergio Ramos who was in an offside position, he was 95 centimetres offside. VAR - no goal!"
