Chicago Fire to change its name and move out from Toyota Park
The MLS franchise is looking to change their name and go back to the mythical stadium and home of the Chicago Bears, which was their home for seven seasons.
An official announcement related to the Chicago Fire name and stadium is expected in the coming weeks according to different sources, that mention the MLS team could even leave Toyota Park.
ESPN journalist, Roberto Abramowitz confirmed this news after a few screen captures were leaked where he talks about the name change and the franchise going back to his old house.
"I’m hearing from very good sources that name change is a go, they have to just announce it along with the stadium move," read the message the journalist published on his twitter account.mls
Chicago's new name
The franchise would go from being 'Chicago Fire' to 'Chicago City Football Club' a change that will include the move of the team to a different stadium, back in the City of Chicago, as Toyota Park is at Bridgeview.

The main topic of the announcement will be the move of the stadium since they will no longer play at Toyota Park, their home since 2006, this in order to go back to the mythical Soldier Field, place where the franchise already played from 1998 to 2005, home of the Chicago Bears of the NFL.
During their time at Soldier Field, Chicago Fire lifted five championships, their only MLS Cup, an MLS Supporter's Shield, and three U.S. Open Cup.
