Valencia closing in on deal for Pedro Mosquera
The former Real and Getafe midfielder is in talks to move to Mestalla with Dpoer eyeing Javi Fuego on loan as part of the deal.
Valencia are in the market for reinforcements before the January window closes and have set their sights on Deportivo midfielder Pedro Mosquera. The former Real Madrid and Getafe player has a minimum release clause of four million euros in his contract at Riazor and Valencia are eager to trigger it to land Mosquera before next Monday. Negotiations between the player and Valencia are said to be in the advanced stage and Deportivo are on the verge of losing one of the key players in what has been an exceptional season to date for the Galician outfit.
Mosquera has been instrumental in Celta's good results this season and he is an idol among the faithful at Riazor. However, the decision lies entirely with the player.
Mosquera arrived at Depor last summer as a free agent having cancelled his contract with Elche when the club suffered an administrative relegation and immediately cemented a first team place as the side's defensive midfield linchpin. So far this season he has made 20 appearances in the league, only missing one game, the 2-2 draw at Camp Nou, due to a suspension.
If the Mosquera deal goes through, Deportivo are weighing up a loan move for Valencia midfielder Javi Fuego as a replacement.
