Sergio Ramos again trains away from the Real Madrid group
The central defender, forced off at the break against Deportivo, is expected to be part of the squad for Sunday's clash with Sporting Gijón.
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos trained indoors during Real Madrid’s fourth session of the week at Ciudad Real Madrid on Friday.
According to the club, Ramos was again absent from the group as coach Zinedine Zidane oversaw a demanding session at Valdebebas, which focused on fitness and ball work.
However, the defender – who was substituted at half time of last weekend’s win over Deportivo La Coruña with a muscle problem – should be able to take his place in Real Madrid’s squad for the match against Sporting Gijón on Sunday (16:00 CET).
The squad underwent a range of physical training circuits, before completing several exercises with ball at feet, involving sprints and shots on goal, and crossing (from both wings) and finishing.
As is typically the case, the first half of the session saw goalkeepers Keylor Navas, Kiko Casilla and Rubén Yáñez go through their paces away from the group.
On Saturday, Los Blancos will undergo a final work-out from 11:00 as they put the finishing touches to their preparations for their encounter with Gijón at the Bernabéu.
