Zinedine Zidane commenced his new role at Real Madrid accompanied by the four members of his coaching staff – all four are people within his close circle. Zidane’s first assistant will be David Bettoni, his right-hand man while he was at Castilla and intimate friend since their playing days together in Cannes when both were just 19 years old. Zidane feels that Bettoni is the ideal man for the tactical preparation of the team game and he is key figure in the Frenchman’s personal life.
His second assistant will be Hamidou Msaidie – a specialist in helping players recover from injury problems. Once Benítez’s technical team tie up their contractual issues with the club, Bernardo Requena will take over as fitness trainer – the job he performed with the reserves.
Keylor, Casilla and Yáñez will take their orders from Luis Llopis, who has spent time training the goalkeepers in the youth categories. Real Madrid have not ruled out the possibility of hiring another person to strengthen Zidane’s technical team. All members of the coaching staff were involved in today’s training session and Zizou could be seen helping them out at various points of the workout.
