Barça to cash in on la Masia, Sandro and Samper up for sale
The striker could be off to Tottenham (12 million euros) and the midfielder is an Arsenal target (eight million).
Barcelona are in talks to make some winter sales in order to bring in cash for new signings and are looking to offload some of the players who came up through their youth system at the highly rated La Masia academy.
The first who could leave is striker Sandro, with Tottenham keen to bring in the youngster. The two clubs have already had initial talks.
The London based club, currently fourth in the Premier, have lost Cameroon player Clinton N’Jie to injury and consider the two attackers they have, Heung-Min Son and England international Kane, insufficient for the remainder of the campaign.
Tottenham are willing to offer the 20 year old a four and a half year deal, however the negotiations have hit a stumbling block because the English club are refusing to offer Barcelona a repurchase clause.
Tottenham are also keen to try and get the price down from the 12 million euros Barça want, but coach Mauricio Pochettino is keen to bring the player in, appreciating as he does, Sandro’s mobility and competitive spirit.
Another English club looking keenly at the Camp Nou is Arsenal, who have focused on Samper. Remember too that the clubs will meet in the next round of the Champions League.
Sergi Samper, also 20, isn’t a standard call-up to the first team squad and Arsenal think they could land him for eight to 10 million euros. The London based club see this year as a great chance to win the Premiership once again and believe the player could be a great reinforcement in their bid to do so.
If the transfers go ahead Barcelona would have money to spend in this winter transfer window, something they lack at the moment. Nolito is the Catalan club’s main desire, but he’s been nearly ruled out due to the price tag. Denis Suárez of Villerreal could be the leading alternative.
