EL CLÁSICO | REAL MADRID - BARCELONA
Benzema suffering and is in doubt for el Clásico on Saturday
COPE, Spanish radio, is reporting that the French striker has had a relapse of the hamstring injury he picked up in October while playing for France
Karim Benzema is still not at 100% and his presence is in doubt for the Cláscio on Saturday. The embattled French footballer has suffered a relapse of the hamstring injury he picked up with the French national team, according to reports on COPE, a Spanish radio channel.
The injury came against Armenia on Thursday October 8 after Benzema had scored in a 4-0 victory. The next day, the French Football Federation (FFF) confirmed that the Real Madrid striker had suffered a hamstring injury.
"Karim Benzema had an MRI scan this Friday morning which confirmed the clinical examination of the night before and showed grade one damage to the left hamstring," a statement from the FFF read.
He hasn’t played in a single official match since then, and is now looking unlikely to be able to take any part in the Clásico on Sat Nov 21, kick-off 6.15pm CET.
