Nolito: "Whatever happens, happens but I’m happy in Vigo"
The Celta player is anxious to distance himself from the rumours linking him with a move to Barcelona.
Celta’s, Manuel Agudo, ”Nolito”, assured that he plans to distance himself from persisting rumours that link him in a move to Camp Nou but he also claims that "I’d never rule out taking a taste of that water” and added that his is "delighted to be in Vigo" and it’s important to "respect" his current side..
"I’m relaxed about matters and have my feet on the ground. I just try and get on with things and stay away from those rumours that cast speculation about my future. What will happen, will happen. One can never say that ‘I’d never try and taste that water’ but at present I’m delighted in Vigo. One needs to have respect for Celta. Things are going well here at the moment and we’ll just have to see what materializes", highlighted the player when talking to betting agency, Sportium.
"Luis Enrique is one of my sporting ‘fathers’. When I was at Barça B, he convinced me that I could make a living by playing football. He insisted that I lose weight and to look after my talent. These were important words of advice and really helped me at the start of my career”.
The Cadiz born player analyzed Celta’s season to date confirming that the team are competing really well and that there is a high level of quality throughout the squad. “We need to maintain the quest for picking up points each game. The supporters are right behind us and this is something you can sense of the pitch. We need to keep our heads and am sure we can finish well come season end", he assured.
"When things go well it’s logical that aspirations get higher. There is still so much of the league campaign to go and we need to be patient. I’d love to play one day with Celta in the Champions League, that would be a dream come true. I participated in the competition with Benfica and it was a great experience. If we get into Europe, I’ll personally organize a Flamenco festival to celebrate", he joked..
Nolito doesn’t have a clear favorite for the league title this season but acknowledged that, "Barcelona and Real Madrid are a step ahead of the rest, both teams have spectacular players that can make the difference".
