Morata suffers 'traumatic injury' to his right calf muscle
The Juventus striker quit the field on a stretcher on 30 minutes after an opponent fell onto his right leg.
Luxembourg’s heavy-handed approach to tonight’s EURO 2016 qualifier left Spain with two casualties within the first half hour. Álvaro Morata followed David Silva into the treatment room on a stretcher after rival Kevin Malget came in with a two-legged challenge and scythed the Juve striker down, landing on the player's right leg on 30 minutes.
After examining Morata’s leg, RFEF medical staff were not optimistic and at one pointwe worried that he may have fractured his right shin bone. Early indications are that Morata has suffered 'a traumatic injury to his right calf muscle'. It is not known how long he will be sidelined.
