Courtois, out for four months after operation in Barcelona
The Belgian international is expected to be out of action for Chelsea for a period of approximately four months after suffering a serious right knee injury.
Jose Mourinho has suffered a major setback at Chelsea with the news that his first-choice goalkeeper, Belgian, Thibaut Courtois will be out of action for approximately four months. After returning from Belgium’s Euro 2016 qualifying matches, the goalkeeper was forced to retire from a Chelsea morning training session limping badly. The player was flown to Barcelona as a matter of urgency where he was operated on late yesterday at the Catalan city’s Clínica Quirón.
The Chelsea medical team has yet to issue a statement surrounding the nature of the injury but if early indications are correct, the player will miss the entire group phase of the 2015-16 Champions League.
