Girl who was left in a coma after La Coruña Rally dies
The number of mortal victims rises to seven. Two other casualties were discharged from hospital this evening.
One of the minors who was hospitalized in a coma following yesterday’s Rally in La Coruña, died this evening, RTVE has reported. The number of mortal victims as a result of the accident rises to seven. This evening, two other casualties – one adult and a minor, were discharged from the Materno Infantil hospital at the CHUAC University complex. Six others, who had been admitted with injuries, were also released throughout the day.
At the time of going to press, one casualty remains in intensive care in a serious condition while another three remain in the unit but their conditions are believed to be less serious. The driver of the Peugeot 206 XS which veered off course and into a group of spectators, Sergio Tabeayo Sandey, walked away unharmed and tested negative for alcohol or drugs after blood and breath tests, the Xustiza de Galicia Magistrates Court confirmed today. No date has been set for next set of procedures, in which testimonies will be taken at the Investigating Magistrate court No.8 in La Coruña.
