Spanish squad arrive in Skopje for Macedonia game

Del Bosque’s side, who beat Slovakia yesterday 2-0, play their hosts on Tuesday at 8.45pm

The Spanish squad landed in Skopje this evening just after 8.30pm. Del Bosque’s men flew direct from Asturias to Macedonia, where they will play a vital qualifying game on Tuesday at 8.45pm.

The entire team, after landing in Skopje, were transferred to the hotel where they’ll be staying for the duration of their time in the country. Tomorrow, the day before the game, they will have a training session in the Nacionalna Arena Filip II Makedonski, where the match will be played.

This morning, before catching the flight, the Spanish internationals trained at El Molinón. Prior to the training session a minute’s silence was held in memory of the victims of the fatal crash in the Rally de A Coruña.

Spain beat Slovakia 2-0 last night and are top of Group C. Jordi Alba’s goal in the match means he now ranks third on the list of out-and-out defenders with the most goals for the national team. He now has 6, behind Sergio Ramos (10) and Maceda (8).
