Czech Republic qualify for France 2016
Pavel Vrba's team beat Latvia 1-2, with goals from David Limberský and Vladimír Darida.
The Czech Republic beat Latvia 1-2 to book their place in the European Championship finals for the sixth time running. Although they didn’t start Group A favourites, with Holland and Turkey alongside them (and revelation team Iceland) the Czechs have had a near perfect campaign, with six wins, a draw and just one defeat, and are the second team to qualify after England, who booked their place with a 6-0 tonking of San Marino yesterday.
The Czechs took advantage of Holland stumbling to a 3-0 defeat to Turkey and their win over Latvia sees them qualify mathematically on 19 points. Iceland can claim ensure their qualification if they beat Kazakhstan this evening.
