Sky Sports: Mourinho called Carneiro "hija de puta"
British media group picks up pitch side footage of Mourinho allegedly insulting team doctor during match against Swansea.
British broadcaster Sky Sports has reported that José Mourinho called Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro a "hija de puta" during the match against Swansea last weekend. Mourinho was incensed that first-team medic Carneiro had run on to the pitch during stoppage time of the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge to treat Eden Hazard, who had gone down with an injury, leaving Chelsea temporarily with nine players on the field. Mourinho has since banned Carneiro, who has been in the post for five seasons, from sitting on the bench during matches.
Sky also reported that Mourinho also shouted "Para carajo" during his touchline outburst, which can be translated as "for f**k's sake." The Sky report has been picked up by several UK media outlets, with condemnation of Mourinho's actions widespread. As well as the lack of respect shown by the Chelsea manager towards his team doctor, Carneiro was also obliged to go out on to the pitch as match referee Mike Oliver had given the order for Hazard to receive treatment.
British football has rounded on the Chelsea manager for his comments and the Daily Mail has reported that owner Roman Abramovich has not viewed the decision to relieve Carneiro of some of her duties kindly. Premier League Doctors Group have issued a statement condemning Mourinho's actions and offering "universal and total support" towards Carneiro.
