Thiago Motta stands firm in his decision to leave PSG
The Italian admitted at the start of the summer that he wants to leave the club although coach Laurent Blanc and PSG officials continue to stay he will stay.
Thiago Motta is very clear in his intentions of leaving Paris Saint Germain. Although he played in PSG’s opening Ligue 1 victory over Lille and was key in his side’s victory, the midfielder’s stance has not changed.
Right at the start of the summer transfer market the midfielder said in an interview with L’Equipe that he wanted to leave the French champions and that his destination would be Atlético Madrid but both his coach and club officials have insisted on him staying.
The club’s owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, used the presentation of Angel di María to rule out the sale of the Italian, saying “he has a year on his contract and he will stay here”.
PSG coach Laurent Blanc also wants the player to stay in the French capital, saying after the match: “We want to keep Motta but there are things we do not control. I can say that he is very important”.
The player thinks differently, however, and has not changed his mind. Even some of his teammates, such as Thiago Silva, have tried to convince the player to stay but he will not change his answer. Motta, who will soon turn 33, does not want a loan deal away from PSG. He wants a full departure.
