Stindl breaks Casillas’ duck with Porto
The Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder opened the scoring in Friday’s friendly at Borussia Park.
Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Lars Stindl became the first player to find a way past Iker Casillas in his new career at FC Porto. The former Real Madrid keeper had kept a clean sheet on his debut against MSV Duisburg and started Friday’s friendly at Borussia Park - his second appearance for Os Dragões. On 20 minutes, Stindl was at the end of neat passing move, and after being teed up just inside the penalty area, struck a low, first-time strike into the bottom corner. Ibrahima Traoré added a second for the locals just before half-time then Cameroonian striker Vincent Aboubakar pulled one back for Porto as it ended 2-1 on the whistle.
