Barça presidential hopeful Benedito would send Arda back
The pre-candidate said the Managing Commission should not have signed the player.
Barcelona presidential pre-candidate Agustí Benedito has said the signing of Arda Turan by the club’s Managing Commission (in charge until the Presidential elections are held) was improper conduct and a decision that would affect the club’s finances of his first year in charge, if he were to win the elections.
Benedito’s plan if he does win the elections is to send Arda Turan back to Atlético – the deal with the Madrid club, due to the presidential elections, allows the player to be returned, at a cost of 10% of the 34 million euro fee. Benedito is quite clear that the 3.4 million cost of returning Turan would be charged to Bartomeu’s presidency.
“They are going to take a profit of six million euros on the sale of Deulofeu to Everton, but hit the following board with the cost of 34+7 (in add-ons) of Arda. It’s the gravest decision I’ve ever seen in an electoral process”, said Benedito. The pre-candidate also said he’d never heard Luis Enrique talk about Turan, but he had talked about PSG’s Marco Verratti, who Benedito has said he’ll try and sign.
