Arda deal puts Barça’s managing commission under pressure
Ramon Adell, president of the commission, is considering resigning in the face of pressure from presidential candidate Bartomeu.
Arda Turan could be a Barcelona player in the next few hours if the Management Commission currently in charge of the club in the run up to the presidential elections, decides to give the green light to the deal. Presidential candidate Josep Maria Bartomeu, who resigned from the post to call the elections, seeking a stronger mandate, has made it clear he feels the signing should go ahead.
Before resigning Bartomeu had closed a deal with Atlético Madrid and the Turkish player. Arda, a player expressly requested by coach Luis Enrique, would cost Barça around 34 million plus add ons.
However the pressure on the managing commission from Bartomeu has led to its president Ramon Adell considering his resignation, given that the managing commission’s duty to the club is not to make substantial signings that are the express desire of one of the presidential candidates.
