Inter and Atlético a step closer to concluding Miranda deal
The Serie A side have reached an agreement in principal with the Brazilian centre-back and they just need to secure a transfer fee with Atlético.
Inter Milan have upped their gear to sign Atlético Madrid defender Joao Miranda and a sum of €4 million hangs between them getting their man, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Serie A side have reached an agreement in principal with the Brazilian centre-back and they just need to secure a transfer fee with Atlético. The club, headed by Indonesian billionaire Erick Thohir, have offered around €12 million but Atleti are asking for €16 million. Miranda would be the first signing of the summer for Inter and it a deal for the Brazil international would see them get one over on bitter rivals AC Milan, who have also shown interest in the defender.
Miranda had offers from the Premier League last year but Atleti hung on to him. Now, after seeing the progression of José Giménez last season, they have other ideas. Miranda would leave on a free transfer in June 2016 and Atleti see it as a good chance to cash-on on the 30-year-old.
The defender played 23 league games this season with Madrid and is currently in Chile competing for Brazil in the Copa América.
