Denis Cheryshev will return to Madrid on June 30 after completing his Seaton-long loan spell with Villarreal – but his future is in England. AS understands that Liverpool have already made moves to sign the Russian international and are willing to offer between €15-20 million to sign the 24-year-old.
The attack has shone this season with the Yellow Submarines and the Anfield club are looking for a versatile player who can cover the possible departure of one of their stars: Raheem Sterling. And Cheryshev has goals. In the 2012-13 season he scored 11 in the Segunda Division with Real Madrid Castilla and he finished this campaign with seven for Villarreal. In the 2013-14 season he suffered two injuries with Sevilla that that limited him to only five appearances. The player will also relish the idea of playing in the Premier League, a competition that suits his dynamic football.
Under contract. Madrid could balance the books with a player who, for the moment, is not part of Benítez’s plans and who has a contract with Madrid until 2017. The question is whether Liverpool and Madrid agree a buy-back clause, as with the recent transfers of such homegrown players as Carvajal, Morata and Joselu or whether a transfer will be final.
