Atlético make 10-million-euro offer for Celta's Nolito
The Calderón club attempted to sign Spain international last summer. Celta are holding out for 14 million euros.
Atlético Madrid have started looking ahead to next season and have fixed their gaze on Celta’s Spanish international midfielder Nolito, who Diego Simeone wants to reinforce the left wing. Nolito has four years left on his Celta contract and a buy-out clause of 18 million euros, although the Vigo-based club is thought to be ready to accept 14 million. Atlético’s opening gambit was a 10-million-euro bid, with add-ons based on appearances, goals scored, Champions League qualification and titles won.
Celta are holding out for 14 million as Nolito is a star player at Balaídos and the club will not let him go for less than their valuation. Last season Nolito scored 13 goals and provided the same number of assists. The player himself has expressed a desire to move to the Calderón after Atlético made an unsuccessful attempt to sign him last summer. In an interview with AS this week, Nolito said: “Who wouldn’t want to play for Atlético Madrid?”
