Xavi: “It’s unfair what’s happening to Iker”
The Barcelona midfielder took advantage of his press conference to announce his departure from Barcelona to talk about his friend, Casillas.
“I don’t like what’s happening to Iker and it’s unfair what’s going on. He did so much for Madrid and Spain. I hope it all changes. He deserves better treatment”, said Barcelona captain Xavi Hernández about the treatment of his friend Iker Casillas at the hands of the Real Madrid fans.
Xavi took advantage of the press conference held to announce his departure from Barcelona to show his support for Casillas saying that the Real Madrid captain is “suffering” a lot and that the Real Madrid fans should remember everything the goalkeeper has done for club and country.
Certain sections of the Real Madrid fans at the Bernabéu have been whistling the keeper for his performances, as well as accusing him of having been a mole in leaking information from the dressing room in the Mourinho era. One of Mourinho's supposed reasons for falling out with Casillas was the fact the Madrid keeper had spoken to Xavi directly, behind Mou's back, to try and calm the angry atmosphere between the two teams that developed in the Clásicos.
