ATLÉTICO - BARCELONA
Miranda and Mario could be saying goodbye this afternoon
The Brazilian defender has been a vital part of the last four season's successes.
Atlético – Barcelona this afternoon is the last game of the season at the Calderón and could also be a chance to say goodbye to some of the players. Two in particular. First of all, Miranda. The Brazilian central defender finished his contract in June 2016 and Atleti haven’t offered him a renewed deal, meaning he could leave this summer. The club have Giménez and Godín and could bring back Alderweireld. They also have Velázquez on loan, meaning the sports directors at the club believe Miranda can leave without any problems. The footballer though hasn’t spoken about wanting to leave and has always said he wants to see out his contract.
The other footballer who could be leaving this summer is Mario Suárez. The player came up through the ranks at Atleti, and has a good reputation outside Spain, despite the fact the Cholo hasn’t played him as much as the player would have liked. He’s played 185 games in total for Atleti (124 in the Liga) and scored five goals, four in the League and one in Europe. He also hasn’t spoken about his future, but everything indicates that he could be on his way.
