Atleti have sold out their stadium on 13 occasions this season. 54.100 fans expected for the Barcelona game tomorrow.
Atlético close their 2014/15 campaign at home tomorrow against Barcelona at home in front of anticipated 54.100 spectators. Cholo’s team are fighting to secure the third place in the league and the Vicente Calderon will host its thirteenth sell-out game of the current season. The supporters have responded this season and the overall attendance rate will end at 86% capacity versus last season’s figure of a 78% capacity.
On 13 occasions this season, the ‘sold-out’ sign has been on display for games against: Sevilla, Español, Real Madrid, Valencia, Elche, Athletic and Barcelona in La Liga, Copa del Rey ties against Real Madrid and Barcelona, three Champions League games against , Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid) and the Super Cup game in august 2014 against Real Madrid.
Atlético have sold over 275.000 tickets this season with on-line purchase representing a 62% share of tickets purchased by fans.
Despite the importance of tomorrow’s game for both clubs, Atlético have confirmed that there will be no special ‘tifo’. Atleti fans are expected from all over Spain to see off the season and the club have request that supporters take their seats early to avoid congestion at the turnstiles.
