Enrique rejected chance to sign Verratti for Roma, says Bojan
The former Barça and Roma striker spoke on Que t’hi jugues on Cadena SER and said Enrique turned down the highly-rated PSG midfielder.
Speaking on the programme Que t’hi jugues on radio station Cadena SER, Stoke City’s former Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic revealed a secret that comes as a bit of a surprise given that his former club, who are now coached by ex-Roma boss Luis Enrique, have been linked heavily with a move for PSG midfielder Marco Verratti.
Striker Bojan, who spent time in Italy with both AC Milan and Roma, said that the Italian capital club were in pursuit of the deep-lying playmaker who is currently on the books at PSG. However, the player didn't join Roma as Enrique wasn't sure about the player's ability.
Speaking to Cadena SER, he said: “They followed him (Verratti) but Luis Enrique maintained that he was not at the level of the team.”
